What's New

Archives Souvenir Shop

As part of the promotion programme, the Seychelles National Archives has set up an archives souvenir corner to sell items which characterize the institution. This will be based on the ground floor, inside the research room. Items to be put on sale are as follows:

  • souvenir of Seychelles featuring reproduction of historical maps
  • postcards
  • old Seychelles photographs
  • stamps, paper currencies, and so on

Interested viewers and buyers are welcome at the Archives, and also at the STC’s Duty Free (at the airport) where these items are equally available.

Trace Your Ancestry

The “Trace your Ancestry” campaign launched by the National Archives has been extended to the end of 2010. Keen individuals have about five months therefore to make the most out of this promotion and trace their family tree for a minimum sum of SR150.00 if they partake in the research, and SR350.00 if otherwise.
It should be noted that the normal price for this service will be resumed as from January 2011.

Digitisation of Educational Files

As part of its conservation project, and also to enhance public accessibility to documents, the National Archives is attempting to digitize its holdings. Consequently, it has been anticipated that as from November 2010, all educational files will be available in digital format.
